Don't forget a dash, a closer, shield, heal, bonus damage, poke, etc. he really has a wide range of effects

He has an ultra badass kit, but with all that he feels more support less assassin.

I kinda like that though, he might not be as assasiny as say fizz but i feel like in team fights his wide range of effects are more useful.

I agree. My favourite characters are ones that can delete people (Riven, Irelia, Nidalee, Katarina) and ones that make huge plays (Anivia, Bard (I'm actually a badass with bard. Sometimes)). Ekko seems like he might be the balance between the two. I'm totally going to try him as he's on free rotation.

That's awesome, there is actually some truth to this imo. I feel like support is an under appreciated role. A good support can win games, but I'm slightly partial.

There's some amount of truth, but only to a point. Even an amazing support can't turn a game around with an awful adc; supports can't really hypercarry a game. But with a mediocre-good adc, a really good support will eventually let bot lane snowball and make teamfights that much better, letting you win.

Eh. Solo mid casually is where it's at imo. Not as carrying but way more fun with the match ups I get.

I love burst DPS. That's why I mained Riven for so long. Then Irelia because she's better when she's behind. Now Katarina because I jump on people and they go boom. Then I jump on someone else. The only problem is you get cc'd you die. I've been building tankish and it's working really well.

I feel like tank is a waste of gold, you just have to outplay and not get CCed... Idk I can play pretty much everywhere but mid so I'm not the best one to listen to, but mids are meant to be squishy and it seems like you're better off just going with it and building full damage. Outplaying and not getting CC'd sounds easy. SO EASY. it's not like non-skillshot CC is a thing. It's not like stun stacking is a thing. Nope. Not things.

The thing is with Katarina I can build an abyssal Scepter, Zyhonia's and still have damage. Then my last item can be whatever. My build ATM is

Boots pots 4

Luden's

Abyssal/Zyhonia's order depending on how much gold I've got and what I'm up against.

Finish sorcerer's shoes or merc treads by now.

Rabbadon's or void staff (I think it's called void staff) depending on if they're stacking magic resist

Banshee's vs fed ap/heavy CC. Guardian angel vs balanced. Trying to find a decent armour/ap combo item. Or more damage if I'm super fed or I feel like I need it.

Sometimes I get a void staff and skip the abyssal.

So with this build I'll have about 100+ armour, 100+ magic resist, 35 magic pen (20 anthem) and 360+ ap.

What this means is when I do my job of cleanup crew on team fights, it's easy. When I jump into a team fight to finish people off, I'm pretty safe. When I engage I can usually get out. It's the optimal balance of being able to kill somebody without just plain dying. I can't 1v1 a Riven or one combo anybody that isn't squishy but that's not what Katarina does. She roams and gets the other lanes fed then cleans up after team fights or ends them really quickly.

Sometimes full ap is the way to go. But that's rare. The generic build of,

Sorcerer's shoes, Luden's Echo, Rabbadon's Deathcap, Abyssal Scepter, Zyhonia's Hourglass and Guardian Angel

Is very solid base that can get me by in games when there's not really anything specific to build. It's been working quite well for me.

Haha, that's actually exactly what's in the guide I posted... I'll just leave now I didn't realize those items gave enough tank stats to be called building tanky

It's not really tanky as much as it's anti-squishy.
