Ajani would be in the "rescue Elspeth" camp. He is currently engaged in a campaign against the gods, as we left Theros.
Gideon having been a champion of Heliod in his youth, it could be that Gideon returns to prevent this campaign, if the destruction of the gods would be a bad thing for the general populace of Theros.
Say the Nyx would collapse when all the gods are disbelieved, and in its collapse destroy the plane. In that case I can see Ajani as the threat to the plane, even if unaware of the results of his actions.

If we go back to Theros I hope Ashioks story line is big part of it. Maybe causing nightmares to Ajani that make him paranoid and cause his war against the gods

Well, Ajani has already vowed revenge on Heliod for killing Elspeth, but Ashiok could play a role in that fight on the Nyx side.

I hope ashiok is seen later helping bolas destroy some minds and terrorize a new plane. Or at least expand on what it's back story is

 I don't think Lilliana  actually joins  The gate watch. While all the other oath cards have magic aura in their hands for the art. But for lili's she just has her hand up. No magic cloaking it. I think she just pretends to.

Except when it's words given under duress, then it's an empty promise for fully extracted under the circumstances...

She's serious, plus she's very protective of Jace. Also check the flavor of the white plainswalker spell, it's about her and Gideon not seeing eye to eye, but still fighting back to back
