Fair enough, I thought by tank you meant like armor/health items or something like that. Those wouldn't be smart.

LinkCelestrial

I couldn't imagine myself grabbing a Warmogs or something but full damage is really over rated IMO. 9/10 games I'm more than happy with using a slot for a defensive item and straying a bit from damage in pursuit if defence.

Ekann1

Of course, even when I play a full damage based champ I still usually grab a defense item last.

LinkCelestrial

AP item reworks and slow mechanic changes. Thoughts?

I liked the concept but thought ap champions would be weaker. Played Katarina last night and went 18/2/6. Needless may be weaker but it's cheaper and that, my dear friends, is great. Rabbadon's costs more but it's insane, and the new Luden's and Zhonya's are great.

All in all I like it. It lets you grab pieces more often which is very nice.

Ekann1

I wouldn't know, I don't play AP champions :P I'm going to try to learn Fizz though.

LinkCelestrial

One of my friends confessed that he's never, literally never, played AP.

I have not been able to play for awhile, is that river king guy any good?

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

I dunno, I haven't seen him played yet, however, I think he synergies with Hecarim amazingly

He doesn't seem great, although to be fair I haven't seen anyone good play him. I played top against him with Jax and I just dodged his tongue whip thing, farmed up, and then just melted him once I had a finished Bork and a few more offensive items.
I saw him as a support while spectating a ranked game and he seemed a little better but still not great. The guy playing him kept jumping into 1v3s and dying though, so I guess that's not the best example,

LinkCelestrial

Unimpressed. He's a support and his W is his only really good ability. He's just meh. I'll keep playing Bard...

Ekann1

I just played with one tonight again. Seemed rather mediocre.

FlickerYourOwnIdentity

As did I, then again the player was rather mediocre.  (I was laning with him and it seemed as though he didn't know what he was doing).  I stand by my earlier statement that he seems pretty good in thoery, but it will be interesting to see how he pans out.

Ekann1

I hate malzahar. So much damage.

LinkCelestrial

It's the suppression that gets me. If they can't land skill shots they're useless though.

I have discovered the greatest thing.

I started saving up IP for Vayne cause I got really hyped off some montages and really enjoyed her when she was on rotation. Well she's on rotation again. My friend, AceTrainerCinder, decided to support me. With BlitzCrank. I said that was a bad idea cause Vayne is pretty passive and insanely squishy. He said it'll be fine. So off we went.

And we dominated. It was disgusting. I realized that BlitzCrank could rocket grab, then that knock up thing, right next to a wall. Then Vayne uses Condemn and gg ez. Your opponent can't respond before they're dead 9/10 times, and a BlitzCrank ult can seal the deal. Our first game was a walkover. Our second we wrecked lane then lost late game to a fed Annie and Aatrox. I didn't carry as hard as I could have (I'm pretty new to Vayne) but I had boatloads of fun.

Vayne Crank. Try it.

I've been getting more into the league scene lately for some reasons and easing out of Dota, and today I was bored and thought, " I thought I would never spend money on an online game," and then proceeded to buy $20 worth of Riot points.  So I got today...

Draven, Lulu, and Yorick.

Draven because people have been saying he's pretty hard, and I like a good challenge.
Lulu because I've played against her several times in game and I found her kit kinda disgusting.
And Yorick because I've never played against him, but he seems fun.

And I just finished playing a Draven game, and it was a mix of "holy .poo. where are these blades going during team fights," and "wow I just killed their whole team who clearly knows what their doing (with the exception of Donger over there)."

We had three points in the game where they almost destroyed our nexus, and we still won somehow.  It was a lot of fun and I genuinely love playing Draven now.  Right now I can only keep track of his Q while in lane, and somewhat well during team fights.  With two, if I'm free farming I can keep track of them, in a teamfight...  I kept both of them going in a teamfight for 7 seconds so, I'm setting that as a record for now.  Lot of work, but he's pretty fun.

Haven't played Lulu yet, and the game I played with Yorick was rampant with lag spikes, so I didn't really get to play with Yorick.  But oh well there's tomorrow for that. :P
