I did.  I don't want to get screwed out of $250. Dang fees, it should have been $280 in my pocket.

I would have given you $250 for 3 wastelands.

There's that.  ;)

I'm in debt $250 right now (was $500 till the wastelands sold) for buying bulk cards.  I need to pay off my debt.  :P

Might be interested. Post what you're selling before you list it and I will let you know.

I literally had someone shark themself out of about $20 in value.

I was at the shop, played a couple rounds of EDH, started to trade a little bit.  We went though binders and pulled out stuff.  He pulled out a {Higure, the Still Wind}, {Magus of teh Abyss}, a promo {Nightveil Specter}, {Mizzium Mortars} and a {Whip of Erebos}.  I pulled out a few things for Modern and Legacy; {Leyline of Sanctity}, two {Master of the Pearl Trident} and a foil, Torment {Grim Lavamancer}.  He had out a smart phone, so I thought he was looking up prices, since neither of us were really sure on the prices of some of the things.  In a bout of thinking out loud, he brought up trading the Higure and Magus for the Leyline and one of the Masters.  In my mind, I was like "Wait, what?", felt a little wide-eyed, but I thought it over.  I ended up saying, without seeming too excited, "I'd be okay with that".  Ended up making the trade.  Going by TCG Mid, I traded $1.52 for about $22.90.

So.

yeah.

Dick move...

We were both happy with the outcome, so I don't see anything wrong with it.  I've been turned down from trading for silly reasons.  One guy needed a a few Boros Charms to finish a deck before an FNM, I went through his binder, pulled out nothing but an Anger of the Gods and an FNM Judge's Familiar (About $4 in value) and offered to trade three Boros Charms for the two of them (So, I'd be losing out on $3-4).  I was turned down on the basis that I was trading uncommons for Rares/Promos.

If someone is actively using a smart device during a trade, I expect them to be at least somewhat informed, or just not care about actual values.  As long as both parties leave the trade satisfied (Ignorant of price or otherwise), it was a good trade.  If I'm losing on a few dollars of value to get stuff I actually want, I don't care.  Granted, this is a much more extreme example, but it's the same principle.

As long as both parties are good with it, I see no problem with it. I have a friend that traded on basis of playability to him, not on actual value. I remember one day I had a magic get together/cook out/birthday celebration that turned into a trade free for all. He traded me a {Huntmaster of the Fells} for 2 {Elbrus, the Binding Blade}. He also traded a {Snapcaster Mage}, which he kept in a ziplock bag with other cards he didnt care about, for both Mikaeus cards (not to me though). Later on that night, a JtMS also switched hands (this was a different friend to another friend, and that was for value).
Needless to say, my friend only played black/white, so to him, the other cards were not playable to him. (His exact words)

I dunno... I usually make up the difference even if the other party is ok with a wrong value. Only fair IMO, especially when people don't know it's a $30 trade difference..

Just bought a {tropical island} in VG condition for $120

Just got my playset of {stomping grounds}. So now I have to get 4 {godless shrine}, 3 {watery graves}, 4 {hallowed fountains}, 4 {Overgrown tombs}, and 3 {steam vents} to complete the set. Slowly but surely...
