Does this combo work if a card leaves play or is discarded or milled doesn't it go to graveyard first then does the rest,

No. {rest in peace /{ley line of the void} says if a card goes to the graveyard, it's exiled instead. Replacement effect. The helm says to continue milling until X cards are put in your graveyard. No cards make it to the graveyard so the deck is endlessly milled.  Cheapest win con I've ever seen. Helm should be next on the banned list (I hope).

Cheapest win I've ever seen was {Donate} + {Illusions of Grandeur}. I was like WTF?? That sucks!!!
