Can someone explain why fetch lands are so valuable? Also, do you think the price will go up any time soon? I have two I want to sell eventually but I'm waiting to see if there are any sudden raises/drops in price....
Fetches are valuable because they are played in every single format they are legal in.

Don't expect them to go up until rotation, though. With fetches, everyone already knows their utility and power. It's not like some new deck is going to make everyone want fetches more than they do now.
Also, besides just playability, their ability allows you to grab nonbasic dual-lands such as shock lands ({Temple Garden}, {Blood Crypt}, {Breeding Pool}) and old school ABUR duals, ({Taiga}, {Scrubland}, {Plateau}) which allows for much easy color splashing (playing more than one color). It doesn't state that the land has to be basic so it makes the card extremely valuable in eternal formats.
Thanks to both of you! I'm going to go to my local game store this weekend and see if I can't trade one of them for an Elspeth, Sun's Champion! :)

Last I checked, at the moment Elspeth is more valuable; I don't think you will get an even trade.  Elspeth is a great card, but she will not hold her value long term; the fetch land will.  Elspeth has too high of a CMC to be playable in other formats so she will drop.  About the only way that trade will happen is if a nonstandard player is looking to dump their Elspeths before rotation.

General rule of thumb, trade standard cards with spike values for cards with eternal value...or value that never really goes down

Foil {Crux of Fate} Anyone?
;)

I wish cards linked...

Also, Elspeth is getting reprinted in the next Duel Deck, so she will tank even further when that hits.

Keep your fetches. They'll hold value.

I just hope it'll see play

Oh snap!I finally preordered cards right!!!! I got 10 crux at 2$ each!!!!!!!
Sell now; I've pulled 3 already
I feel they will have a fairly common printing

Mattao19

I'd hold crux will be a staple for awhile I'd sell after the next big tourney when ppl start net decking them!!

But I mean if they are printed and opened like crazy like end hostilities, it'll drop again, I preordered 2 playsets, usually fine with make 5-8 per copy rather than wait for a $15-20 per copy that only last during a hype for about a week

lotrwk

Hold on to them. Ub control is an extremely well positioned deck, so right now, they'll only get higher.

Hmmm....I guess I'll just have to shop around. I need one so bad I'll even resort to buying one online! ;)

I preordered my {End Hostilities} at $2 and they're currently sold out at $4 on SCG. The price dropped for a while but has rebounded and held steady for a while now.

I doubt {Crux of Fate} will go over ~$8 (if UB Control really takes off), but buying in at $2 seems like decent value.
Yea but you can still buy {end hostilities} at $2 all day long.

cltrn81

The market is the market.  That is why I do not like using SCG for pricing.  They have their own monopoly on their site which makes them slower to set prices and they typically charge a premium since they are kind of the #1 game in town when it comes to aftermarket mtg sales.  TCG is a true market where there are lots of competitors and the prices are driven by one vendor offering them up cheaper and the customers buying up product.......it is all supply and demand on TCG.

MuggyWuggy

Shipping is always a factor on TCG
If you can buy a playset from the same guy you end up saving a lot
