I would've done it.  {Desecration Demon} is on it's way out, and he's already better IMO. I think mono black will probably stay a thing.

I'm just not a fan of the card advantage it allows. It seems like it says "(1)({B})({B}), Sorcery, target opponent loses 5 life and draws 2 cards."

It is nice they draw the card on your turn tho.  That does make a difference cuz with {B} you can make em discard that card before they can use it if it's not an instant.  I plan on running this guy in decks with 3 {liliana of the veil}.  Those two should interact well if you can keep your opponents hand empty.

I think it fits nicely in standard right now. Adds a bit of tempo to mono black. Turn 1 you thoughtseize (cause that's what mono black does). Turn to you do whatever mono black does turn 2, turn three  {Master of the Feast}, 4 desecration demon swing 5, turn 5 Gary for 6 swing 11. I feel that it simply fits nicely. Yeah that's a dream and your opponent is not having a fun time or whatever, but it plays out very nicely.

Mono black has a T3 {Nightveil Spectre} though but still I agree with you I think that it'll see play in Monoblack
