When is the best time to buy Modern Masters stuff? This set doesn't cycle so I am assuming the sooner the better? Lots of nice Modern staples in that set I wouldn't mind picking up: {Maelstrom Pulse}, {Cryptic Command} and {Tarmagoyf} to name a few.

Any time really if you can afford it. The time to pick up the Bobs and goyfs was when it was first released before they increased. Pulse, cryptic, the swords and others should retain their value from this point on.

Now is as good a time as any (as noted above, best point for goyf has passed), though I recommend looking at eBay for goyf, as you'll probably be able to find plenty for ~110 rather than 130.

Cryptic at 25 and Pulse for less than 10 sound fine. If you had the choice, I would go for originals rather than MMA, since they'll hold value better.

I think the two swords are exceptions to the rule, since their art matches with the other swords from the newer mirrodin block.
