Predicting a jump in {Reaper if the Wilds} at rotation, might see some Modern play ;)

I don't really see Reaper being played in modern. I could see it going up a little if the rest of the block makes Jund midrange better, but even then, I'd say she'd still fall after rotation.

What if for his black ability it had regenerated....
That would be expensive!

That would be an amazing card and it would probably see Modern play.

It will jump because of standard and is highly underrated.  If you look at the {B}{G} stuff like {Deathrite Shamen}, which curves into {Loleth Troll}, which curves into {Valroz, Scar... Whatever}(forgot name), which curves into {Reaper of the Wilds}.  This card is pushed and will see play because of how it curves out.

That's when the Esper control deck you are playing against uses a {Supreme Verdict} or a {Merciless Eviction}. Board wipes are just too common right now.

True, they are common, however it still will see play in those respective decks.  I'm not saying it is very optimal, but it is useful for that specific deck.  Although board wipes are common, this deck will still exist, as will this curve.  Maybe I am beginning to think about how it may better suite modern at the point...

The card is good, I run it, but it's not $20-30 good.

I don't play much of Modern or Legacy but I still see deck lists and lots of Top 8 deck lists have a play set of them. Idk I feel like it is that good

Reaper is a 4 drop :)
Potticus is saying that Reaper is a 6-drop in the same way that {Ætherling} is a 7-drop.

Ahh, thanks I was confused.

I can see it settling around $5. The card is pretty good but it is a 5 drop, a rare and there are other, better cards with more elaborate evasion then it.
