{Blood Baron of Vizkopa}

Edit: I thought I would point out that I was putting this in brackets for a post on the previous page because the post said that this card is going up a dollar a day.

May break $20 soon?
Right!! What's the deal with that? Card isn't worth that

The card has always been worth $20, Other than mizzium mortars can you name another card in standard that can kill it? It's damn near impossible to get rid of and it's a swing card for control.

Not to be THAT guy but ... {supreme verdict}, {merciless eviction}, {Domri Rade},  {Cyclonic Rift},  {Celestial Flare},  {Far // Away}, {devour flesh} and many many others that are still standard legal plus the fact that by the time you play him my life is relatively untouched whereas his controllers life will be <10 he's a great card though and yes one of the best creatures but it grinds my gears how  {Ætherling} is 1/4 of his price!!
This! Perfect post, my friend! It bothers me when people complain about protection or indestructibility, there is so much that gets around it! I've said it before, but celestial flare is one of my favorite removal spells, grab a few and see how "op" that Vizkopa Baron is!

Thanks lol and ya there are lots of ways but I don't get Blood baron I have never seen him get his second ability off I play Aggro so when he comes out on T6 I'd either already have won or I'd have them done below 10 and my life would be around 20.

But I still don't know why {AEtherling} is so low!!

Wally

He was a house in my junk lifegain deck. With {farseek} I often played him turn 4 (that or thragtusk) after playing {rhox faithmender} on turn 3. Then their decision becomes which guy to get rid of if they didnt play removal on rhox.
My optimal 5th or 6th land play was either a {gavony township} or a {vault of the archangel}

However all of those cards have rotated, I wonder why he got so popular after rotation.

BBV is good for casual games, but I don't think he works well in standard, and in ever saw him hit the field in draft

He is a phenomenal standard card.  Absolutely phenomenal.  You will be seeing a lot, A LOT, of him in upcoming tournaments.

And this shows my ignorance of standard because I only play casual or draftf...
And I only do modern :P

I can't do modern, I have a hard time not using a card that I have just because it has the old border...

Modern is all new border.

If a card was reprinted so its modern legal, no one cares if it has the white border.  Half of my eggs deck is white border because I could only find the old version.  No one has called me out on it yet.

Don't sleeves kinda solve it

He is played in all formats and will be a staple. Final price idk, but he has anywhere to go but down.

So I should hang onto my set (I will at least till they rotate, seeing as he's quite important to my standard deck)?

NyghtHawk

Holding on to shamans is never a bad idea to me. You have awhile before rotation and cards sometimes dip after rotation but long term value will be there.

MuggyWuggy

He won't drop below $10 I believe in the long run, since he is an answer for Tarmogoyf

...and a life source, a mana source and can force your opponent to lose life.

Thetrufflehunter

{deathrite shaman} up 3¢
{ashiok, stealer of naps} staying consistent (don't remember what he was at, I'll go check).
