I feel the limited amount of MM printed and with Wizards depleting most of their stock in Vegas, MM value could potentially exceed their predecessors. The box value of MM will shoot up and with that, the cards in them.

A lot of people who simply collect will take a large chunk of the set off the market for players

Reason behind the disparity between MM versions and originals is probably due to the MM versions are rarer. In the set announcement, they stated that the number of goyfs, etc. being introduced to the market would be a (presumably small) fraction of what was already available.
