There is nothing going on to cause the increase in particular, especially that much. Guess Star City just feels they can make more money and wreak havoc on the market I guess.

I tried really hard to buy some at $80 when they were $80-$85 but I kept losing by a buck or two so I have up. Should have just paid $85. Haha

I don't think it'd be as bad as everyone thinks. Modern is a fast format, a 4 mana {Brainstorm} isn't as fearsome as it was in standard. The +2 doesn't cut it, the -1 is worse then {Liliana of the Veil}. They just have to reprint it, it's horribly scarce.

Expensive staples are generally way more than double price (which is usually the measure to use) if they're foil. See: {jace, the mind sculpter}.
