Is there anyway to view your backup files with a third party app?

Piotr

Backup files are fairly simple XML files, once you save them from iTunes somewhere on your PC/Mac, you can open them with any text or XML editor.

Piotr

Not even in notepad? I assume you're on a pc, is that right?

Raven316

Yes on pc windows I will try again. I'll post my result and if I get an error the exact error .. Thanks for the great support you guys rock.

Piotr

I'm afraid I'm an one man band ;)

Raven316

Ok so I retried in both word and notepad and it does open the file but it's in non readable format and I also tried opening it in Internet explorer and there it gives me an error any suggestions . Keep up the good work one man show ...ps I'm trying to open and want to open the files of precious and trades folders

Piotr

OK, try changing the file's extension from .imtgbackup to .xml and give it a go in explorer again.

In any case, your definition of 'readable' is probably different than mine. What do you want to do with those files / data? Import to some other app / website?

Raven316

I already tried changing the extention and that did not work I either get an error message something about sprite or file opens and I see open and closed statements with Id numbers in between. I want to be able to view the precious and trade binder like I can with my .dec files ie read it in a text file and be able to import them in magic workstation or email my list ect.

Piotr

I see. This is on my TODO list.
