Ok, I was going threw some of my old foils and I'm wondering why my old  {Skyshroud Claim} foil is SO much more than the regular (less than a dollar to 17 bucks) Is this just the deck blingers?

EDH and old school foiling.  People dig it.  I've got a foil {Crosis, the Purger} worth over $20, regular is like a buck.  Bought the foil because it looks awesome.  And he was my commander for a time

My guess would be it is played in EDH or Legacy somewhere. People like deck pimping so cards that are played in those formats usually have ridiculous gaps between the normal and foil. {Teysa, Orzhov Scion} is another example of this gap, although not as huge.

Yeah the price of my foil  {Charcoal Diamond} really shocked me & has a similar gap (due to EDH and 7th has the only foil) Plent others are similar: foil  {Goblin Matron} foil  {Ambition's Cost}

I think it's your standard black good stuffs: Lilly's, bob, Tseize/inquisition, dismember. Control the board and then obliterate

Even losing 5 to Gary, if you're playing devotion after dropping him the life swing more than makes up for it. Also some are playing {Phyrexian Arena} over Bob.
