Agreed, announcing phases is one thing, announcing the steps of a phase when your not going to do anything in that step is a bit weird.

I hate it when people nerdrage during or after a game, note this has never happened at FNM, but at games I go to that my friends host. It happens all the time. My friend Tim drew his cards, kept his hand instead of mulling again...by turn four he jumped up and threw his cards on the table and started flipping his library all over the table until he came to land cards (he got mana f***ed) and started shouting profanities. It was so annoying :/  I get mana screwed sometimes but I never act like that lol.

And then the people who are slowing the class down and making it insufferable for you complain that you are being distracting.

If you don't declare steps at a tournament someone can get you disqualified

Also I've played people who don't and then as they lay down land and play a 2nd spell, ask if they are unsure if they drew, played a land etc (very important when playing a mazes end deck) and we had played before with him doing the same thing, told him to announce steps. I talked to a few people at the shop also and he's played like that before.

So I think it's very necessary to announce each phase.

We have some but not enough. I am in every advanced class I can be in right now and I am still bored out of my mind. I am taking (as a Junior) pre-calculus, AP Biology, AP Microeconomics, English 1510 and Music Theory I but all of my other classes are normal.

Same thing happened to me back in the day. My Advanced calculus teacher actually let me sleep the whole period cause I brought my book to class once... Lol. Gotta love the "No child left behind" act. It took all advantages away from the kids who school work came easy and gave it to the students that it didnt. I'm not bashing the kids that it's more difficult for, just standing up for the ones that get it easy.
