You can pretty much assume that most standard cards won't be good enough for modern haha.

5 mana is too much
When you have access to 0-3 cost spells that win games and crazy ramp or reanimator to accelerate huge dudes into play a creature like {swagtusk} falls in that awkward middle zone of not cheap enough to matter or big enough to end the game alone.

rarehuntertay

The only real 5cc I've seen played are  {Kiki-Jiki, Mirror Breaker}, and in some pod decks,  {Zealous Conscripts}

Are you kidding??? {grey merchant of asphodel} continuously annihilated our draft environment here! I couldn't help but club ALL the baby seals with him!!!
We're talking modern right now.

Millionlittlee

Ya mono black is a modern deck

imthelolrus

 {Fulminator Mage} has gone up a few bucks

Coffee Vampire

{Mana Crypt} jumped from like 98 to 250...if this isn't a glitch I am kind of glad I got one already.

It looks like magic is becoming more popular the past year which is making prices jump. I was talking to a few shop owner/workers they are moving more sealed and singles the past few months. We might be heading into a magic bubble in the next few years.

MuggyWuggy

It's probably more popular than it's ever been ever

EDH is bringing in a lot higher prices for foils and cards normally sleeping in legacy also

Plus folks who were youth in the 90s are now adults with disposable income and for the young kids, they haven't made anything cool since our generation so Magic And videogames are all you've got
