Going to my 1st Legacy FNM tonight my friend lent me ANT lol

I've gold fished it a bit and I'm familiar with the deck and lines and stuff, but I wouldn't mind some helpful advice lol it's FNM and Idc but I want to actually do well and not misplay every game lol

Mattao19

Thanks! Hopefully I win a game lol I don't expect to win a match but I think a game is a good goal lol

Advice for ant is a 10 page essay.
{chain of vapor} and {xantid swarm} in the side or you'll go 0-X
Hands with all cantrips are better than hands with all rituals
Storm can be stifled

Just lose this one and be decent for the next. There's a reason why it's called the hardest deck to play.

Isn't that doomsday?

It is also customary to shake the hand of your opponent, then kiss their cheek

True. Make sure you ante up your first card after shuffle and cut.

Lol went 2-2, I felt like I was too conservative I probably could've won earlier but wanted to wait until the last turn almost like I was playing high tide. But hey 2-2 was a solid record that I was proud of lol :D

Sweet. What were your MU's?

Mattao19

Rd. 1: Aluren, pretty easy lol game 1 mulled to 5 no land but a gassed up hand didn't draw mana until t5 after he played an Aluren lol but whiffed off his 2 Shardless Agents :( I comboed off 1 mana

Rd. 2: DNT, could've won game 1 but he had a revoker on LED and top decked a Thalia :( game 2 I got greedy trying to go off too soon and my Ad Nas revealed 2 Massacres lol

Rd. 3: Lands, never drew a business spell even after a brainstorm and ponder :( game 2 won on T3 game 3 chalice on 0 is good lol followed by a t2 chalice on 1 ...

Rd. 4: Jeskai Stoneblade, he kept hands with only 1 counterspell each and my therapy/duress got me there :D

Should've beat dnt but oh well and might have been able to beat lands if I knew how to play the deck better

Most of the time it's the same line of play though. You just have to memorize that one long line of play, and except for corner cases, you're fine. Plus you know exactly when you can combo

Storm, you find a unique line of play every time, thinking 8 factorial spells deep, keeping count of mana, and running probabilities on whiffing on ponders and such. All of which has to be done before the first spell cast every turn.

Also has to be done in a timely manner while advancing the boardstate lol

Mr_Fahrenheit

If storm is too difficult play belcher. It is still pretty much a storm deck but 90% of the time you either win by turn 3 or you may as well concede. The hands play themselves too which is great practice for real storm

Mr_Fahrenheit

Oh belcher is real. Real degenerate, but lets not let the facts get in the way of a good story

It's real and very capable of winning but at the expense of consistency.

T2 agent into {chill} was one of my favorite all time plays vs belcher. He got all the pieces..just mana cost was too much
