nah, I'm on episode 31 and I love it so far; It's as good as if not better than the manga.
Also: yes it's kinda cutesy but it's very lovable with both good humor and action.

Think I'm on ep15 right now. Not read the manga. The show is an interesting pace change after D-Gray Man, who he's pissed me off since Funimation didn't bother to dub the 2nd set.

I'm glad I can say I know other who watch anime now. I have A friend who watches anime with me, but other than Fairy Tail we watch completely separate genres. I watch, as he calls them, dranime (drama anime), fantasy, mystery, and some action anime.
