Title: Viewing backup files
Post by: Raven316 on September 14, 2011, 10:45:19 AM
Is there anyway to view your backup files with a third party app?

Backup files are fairly simple XML files, once you save them from iTunes somewhere on your PC/Mac, you can open them with any text or XML editor.

OK, try changing the file's extension from .imtgbackup to .xml and give it a go in explorer again.

In any case, your definition of 'readable' is probably different than mine. What do you want to do with those files / data? Import to some other app / website?

I already tried changing the extention and that did not work I either get an error message something about sprite or file opens and I see open and closed statements with Id numbers in between. I want to be able to view the precious and trade binder like I can with my .dec files ie read it in a text file and be able to import them in magic workstation or email my list ect.
